Dr. Ahmet Bedir

Dr. Ahmet Bedir is a scholar of Qur’anic studies specializing in tafsir (Qur’anic exegesis) and Islamic geography. He completed his undergraduate studies at Ankara University Faculty of Theology, followed by a master’s degree in Hadith and a doctorate in Tafsir at Harran University.
He served as a professor in the Faculty of Theology in the field of Basic Islamic Sciences at Harran University and as the founding dean of the Faculty of Theology at Bozok University. He has also taught internationally as an honorary lecturer at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. In more recent years, he served as a research scholar at the Hickey Center for Interfaith Studies and Dialogue at Nazareth College (now Nazareth University), Rochester, New York (2015– 2016).
Dr. Bedir is the author of several works on Qur’anic interpretation, including Tevhidin Yurdu: Kur’an-ı Kerim Atlası, the foundation of the present volume. His research brings together textual scholarship and field-based investigation, with a particular focus on the geographical context of Qur’anic revelation. The Living Atlas of the Qur’an reflects many years of study, travel, and direct observation of the landscapes associated with Qur’anic narratives.
